Dial Connect
TelstraClear's DialConnect provides business customers with secure dial up access to their corporate network using leading edge technology. It also enables access to email, web browsers and remote access software.

Dial ConnectRecommended if you have:

Senior staff who frequently travel or work from home
A mobile sales or field force
Staff who, for family or personal reasons, can achieve better work/life balance by working at least some of the time from home
Small "outpost" offices where connecting to the Private IP or Frame Relay network is cost prohibitive

Common sense says that these staff members are out of the office. Dial Connect says they’re right in the office.

What is it?

Dial Connect allows staff to connect to the office network and applications from anywhere with a phone connection – fixed or mobile, it doesn’t matter.

In effect, Dial Connect does away with the concept of the office as a defined space delineated by four walls, and extends it into a space called “wherever”.

Using the Internet, Dial Connect allows your staff to:

  • Access and manage email
  • Work on documents stored on the company server
  • Access applications running on the company server
  • Share documents with other staff

In other words, any computer-related activity staff can do in the office, they can do outside the office as well.

Companies using Dial Connect usually experience:

  • Improved customer service: Mobile sales and field staff often need access to the company network to answer customer queries. Dial Connect provides that access, so customers can get accurate answers more quickly
  • Streamlined business processes by replacing paper or phone-based systems with direct access to the company network
  • A better return on their IT investment by making systems available to staff working out of the office
  • Reduced order-to-bill timeframes, increasing cash flow and reducing costs compared with manual systems
  • Better staff morale thanks to the flexibility it provides in terms of where people work

Dial Connect also provides a plan for business continuity in a civil disaster or major disruption. For large enterprises, such a plan is a “must have”.

Dial Connect can be integrated with a Private IP or Frame Relay network or to a single site LAN, effectively extending them beyond their purely physical locations. It is also a cost effective way of connecting small or remote offices to the wider data network.

Getting started
Dial Connect is simple to set up and requires no specific hardware. Contact your TelstraClear Business Account Manager for more information.
